Man, do I suck.

I'm starting to wonder if i am a man of the internets after-all. This is my first blog-post since August-like I said, I suck.

The Internets?

I've been hearing about the world wide webs for a while now. I thought it was a fad I could outlast, but alas, I admit defeat. I thought a blog would be an acceptable stepping stone to the other vehemoth institutions I have been avoiding, facebook namely.

So, what about this blog? Yeah, I don't really know. Photogrphy is a growing interest among so many people, it is always fun to share your work, discuss, etc. I love that so many people like myself are spending energies creating images that might, or might not be, considered "good" by others. I teach economics, and one thing that i teach my students is that the most vibrant, competitive, progressive markets are those with few barriers to entry. Well, photography is definitely that.

1) It doesn't really cost that much. Sure you can spend tons on equipment, but for the basic photos many seek, a simple setup works. That being said, I have spent a little money on a low to mid-level camera and more on some lenses that I love. It was too painful saying goodbye to my old setup.

2) No education, please! There is little to no formal education necessary for most forms of photography. Although I would love to gleem more knowledge from just about anyone, a classroom is not necessary to learn photography.

So, who can do it? Just about anyone! That is what is so great-
